Privacy Policy
LC Tutors (“we”, “us”) is committed to protecting the privacy of parents and students who use our site, book lessons, or use our student portal. This policy explains what we collect and why.
Information We Collect
We collect information you (or your parent/guardian) provide directly, such as:
- Parent/guardian name, email address and phone number
- Student name and, optionally, student email (for sending Zoom links directly)
- Details submitted through our contact form (subject, level, message)
- Account information if you register for the student portal
Payment card details are never collected or stored by us — all payments are handled directly by Stripe, our payment processor.
How We Use Your Information
We use this information to respond to enquiries, arrange and deliver lessons, send Zoom links, recordings and progress updates, process payments, and, where you've opted in, send occasional study tips by email.
Who We Share It With
We share limited data with the third-party services that run parts of our business:
- Stripe — processes payments and subscriptions
- Calendly — handles 1:1 lesson scheduling
- Resend — sends transactional emails (e.g. booking confirmations)
- Base44 — powers the student portal and login
Each of these providers processes data under their own privacy policy. We don't sell personal data to anyone.
Children's Data
Most of our students are under 18. Bookings are made by a parent or guardian, whose agreement to this policy also covers the student's information collected in the course of delivering lessons (such as a first name and lesson progress notes).
Data Retention
We keep personal data only as long as necessary to deliver our service, meet legal or tax obligations, and resolve any disputes, after which it is deleted or anonymised.
Your Rights
Under GDPR, you have the right to access, correct, or request deletion of your data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise any of these, contact us using the details below. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Irish Data Protection Commission.
Cookies
Our site uses cookies and similar local storage for essential functionality and, via embedded third-party tools, for booking and payment. See our Cookie Policy for details.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time; the “last updated” date above will reflect the latest version.
